This simple truth is that I may not be on this trip right now had Clarence Clemons and Bruce Springsteen not formed the friendship that they did. The music they made brought a maturity to mine and Bob’s friendship years ago, and was a key adhesive in the bond we’ve made. In Suburbia, Ohio, it was good to have someone who knew where you were coming from, and this was our thing.
The last time we saw the E-Street band was November 10th, 2009. They performed the entire Born To Run record that night; a record about adventure, romance, friendship, and leaving town. I’ll remember it as one of the best concerts of my life, and I’ll remember Clarence for the music he made with a friend.
